What is the International Mobility Program (IMP), and why should you care? Essentially, the program spans all the Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) exempt work permit categories. This is inclusive of all employees who will be using work permits to enter Canada which are based on Free Trade Agreements and Intra-Company Transfers.
If you employ foreign nationals working in Canada through the IMP program, then you will also need to comply with all the program’s requirements. Employers are further subject to the same compliance and enforcement measures as anyone using the Temporary Foreign Worker Program.
